The Great Divide
I never thought I would see the day when a Black Man and a Woman would be in an immediate position to possibly be the commander in chief of this hell or heaven on Earth (depending on the day). Both present very different, deliberate - persistent views on how to turn our country around. I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that this was a monumental representation of the things that I am - a Black, Woman. Polls have shown that G-dubya's approval ratings have gone down significantly and that "Obama Mania" is catching on like wild fire. Don't get it twisted, the finger crossers for Clinton 2.0 are not slouching in their commitment either. Hils' gets much love.
Although I don't affiliate with one party or the next, I tend to be a tad liberal on some ideas and quite conservative on others. I won't go there right now for the purpose of brevity, but you'll see in weeks to come. My position here is that if I choose to vote for either one of these individuals purely on the basis of their merit, I will be apart of something great in history. I will have either helped the first African-American Man assume the throne of hope or the First Lady who happened upon a time to be just that. It is refreshing to know that history could be made. It is great to know that although we have a long way to go in eradicating racism and sexism, the signs of change are there. Just ask the thousands of Obama supporters and Clintonites.
Did the bathroom guy off Tony? What was with the bell on the door and all the suspicious characters? Blogs have been lit up all day with chatter about the series finale of the Sopranos. I never really followed the show but couldn't help but wonder what all the fuss was about. I felt like going to Best Buy and picking up the entire series. I don't have that kinda cha-ching right now or time. Maybe I'll catch highlights on YouTube or something. Needless to say, this juggernaut firmly cemented HBO in the annals of popular t.v. They have done great things with Sex and The City, the aforementioned Sopranos, the quickly addictive Entourage and many other original series. I'm sure there are some folks grieving this show's ending, but hopefully they'll seek solace elsewhere on the channel.

Umm...what did he do wrong other than want to overcome a near career ending injury to play for a team in his home state that he grew up admiring? Well I guess that was the equivalent to shooting somebody err, something. Really, I was pulling for Daunte Culpepper to help turn this one man (defense) band around that is the Miami Dolphins. I was pulling for him to knock aside those big shoes of Dan Marino, assert himself and toss long balls down field to an eager Chris Chambers. It seems like that incredibly uber-important position of quarterback has been cursed since number 13 walked away (ringless) years ago. I hope that the Fins' and DC can work something out although I feel it won't be the smoothest of deals. Basically, DC doesn't want to be traded but the Fins' want to trade him to recoup something for the millions and 2nd round draft pick they (Saban Era) spent to get him. It's a long torrid story you can read more about on my fellow blogger's, "The Dude" Dolphin sports blog (where I chime in under Lady Phin). Good luck Daunte. I wished it could've worked out.
