Politics, "Mudslingin," and The Panhandle

"Your Jesus ain't my Jesus"

In right wing news, one "faithful" campaign staffer from Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback's camp apparently sent an email to "fact-check" negative statements about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that Mitt Romney is apart of. Sen. Brownback phoned Romney to apologize and Romney basically blew it off and huffed in a recent visit to Panama City, FL - that's right, that Panama City, FL - that he can handle the lightweight stuff and it didn't matter to the folks in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina where he's footstomping hard. Basically what was questioned was that the Jesus that the LDS worship is not the same Jesus of the Christian faith.

I don't think Jesus will be taking sides on this one...but he may need to take the wheel.

Show Me your B*lls!

In September, Gen Petraeus (the Iraq war Commander) will meet with Congress to give an update on the little scuffle over there. Ryan Crocker made some interesting statements that could possibly "preview" how that whole little convo might go down. Arianna Huffington gives a nice little paraphrased analysis on the double talk. You can read it by clicking the link to your right under the blogtionary. The gauntlet is being prepared lefties, showtime in 3 months.

On the campaign trail was Sen. John McCain who tried to do a little something in Beantown, an area where party favorite Romney was not doing too well.

If you're here on a free pass, Republican Presidential hopeful Ron Paul is going to kick your a$$! He's got no love for people overstaying their welcome here and he's not too shy to tell you about it. He's a strong advocate for border control and makes an interesting comment about it and how it correlates to the "war on terror." I actually like this guy. He's no nonsense and something tells me he may have a few friends in the NRA. Check out his site at http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

(Singing) "Well, I went down further on the Chattahoochee..."

Our little jewel of a town, Apalachicola FL, made national news on USA Today's website. They listed it as one of the Top ten places for dad to go fishing prior to this past weekends celebration of papa's. You go 'Cola!
I want to thank you all for stopping by and commenting. You motivate me to keep this thing moving!

Well the "cola" made the news for something positive. That's refreshing. The town certainly is not what it used to be, at least the "hill" isn't. I miss the days when eleventh street was vibrant, young men were respectful and wore their pants on their waists, young women wore enough clothes and softball games were played on street corners instead of drug deals being made. Our neighborhoods were neat and kept clean instead of being overgrown by weeds and dilapidated houses...I miss the good ole days of the "cola".

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's really not the same anymore, even since I was a youngster there...

If black folks could get their act together, that's prime real estate to bargain with, can you imagine if they fixed the "hill" up, tore down those raggedy houses and took care of things?...

Gentrification is coming, people better get with the program...D. Whiteman does not play when he's got big stacks and a plan.
