Black Republicans

photos courtesy of nrba.info

Did you know that these two gentlemen were Black Republicans? Yep, it's true. Many of you may not know that black folks back in the day were associated with the GOP. I hope this isn't a shock and that some of you didn't spit out your morning coffee.

But think about it...blacks tend to be a little conservative on things the lefties seem to be ok with it.

What are those you ask? Let's try that whole gay marriage deal. If you think about the stigma of "down low" relationships with African-American men in the community, that whole gay thing is something that brotha's and sista's (especially our more seasoned brethren) tend not to be down with (no pun intended). If you don't believe me, make an attempt to take your "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" to a black church.

So I encourage you to go to this website:http://www.nbra.info/ and find out more about the black republican movement, if not for anything else other than an educational opportunity. You may be surprised in what you find out.

FROM THE GOVT DESK OF WEASIEYMJ:
Rissa, you have taught me history. I wasn't aware that Dr. Martin Luther King was a Republican. I have learned something today. I went to my favorite information online site...Google and most blacks were Republicans back in that era. It stated that; the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism. WHAT THE HELL??? Should I change my party and vote Republican?? NOT!

My people have to educate themselves on government...knowledge is power and no matter what, once you have it, they can't take it away from you...
