Homegirl Of The Month - June

She's a supermodel, television producer, talk show host and has even found time to host an award show. She is Tyra Banks and she is this month's Homegirl. Tyra is not only admired for her beauty but true girl power and brains. She was the first African-American model to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Tyra has also broken ground as producer and co-creator of the worldwide Top Model franchise with America's Next Top Model being the flagship of the enterprise. She has spoken often of her admiration for her idol, Oprah Winfrey. She's marching steadily in the footsteps of the high heeled mogul and hosting a talk show of her own aptly titled, the Tyra Show.

Tyra's determination, work ethic and true inner beauty have helped her create the hit series America's Next Top Model. During the show, Tyra teaches not only modeling to aspiring young ladies but encourages self-esteem and personal responsibility. In addition to the many hats she wears, Tyra also has a big heart. Her T-Zone foundation, is designed to help young women accomplish goals by believing in themeselves.
