Really Feeling This Song...

Corinne Bailey Rae is back with a new album entitled The Sea. This past year, she lost her husband to a drug overdose and a lot of the album's tone is reflected by his passing. I love Corinne and what she brings to the musical table. Below she sings the lead single from the album called Closer. It's drapes around you like a chenille sweater on the coldest day in winter - warm, sexy and classy. Enjoy!

Riss,

You ain't never lied. Closer sounds super good. I listened to it twice, or should I say that the song penetrated my senses twice. Love it. Love the lyrics and the emphasis in her singing. I had heard Corrinne Bailey Rae's voice before, but I guess I'd never stop to really listen to it.

She reminds me of an old school singer, although the name escapes me at the moment.

She seemed to become frozen when asked about his death, didn't she? CBR appears very soft and sweet-like.

Don,

Glad you enjoyed the song! It's been in heavy rotation specifically for the mood and her delivery. I noticed too that she stammered a bit when asked about him. I can't imagine having to relive that pain a little each time someone asked the question.

She's kinda got a Sarah Vaughn type thing with a little Billie Holliday.
