I Keep Fallin...

In love with Alicia Keys! I had the honor and priviledge of seeing her Saturday night in concert. She was absolutely fantastic! The show started with a skit including a church choir, Cedric the Entertainer and the fabulous Jennifer Lewis. Cedric posing as the "Pastor" of the church told the congregation that little 'Licia was about to embark on a journey to find the "Starmaker" which inevitably turned out to be her. It was funny and got the crowd laughing and amped up for the show. Granted, this was all taped and shown on the big screen but still entertaining none the less. The band started playing, smoke began to rise and the partition opened to a baby grand piano that slid mercifully slowly to center stage. But there was no Alicia. Next the house lights went down and back up. There she sat, tickling the ivory's and causing complete hysteria to me and a few other folks surrounding me. Alicia brought her "A" game.

She did a complete 2 hour show. And when I say complete, I mean I got my money's worth and then some! She did all the hits plus a few jams that I rock that weren't released for radio. The entire performance was class act just like the woman herself. Alicia is an inspiration. She inspires the artist in me and the human in everyone. She danced, played the piano and sang at the top of her lungs at pitches I didn't think she could reach at a live show. She didn't dissapoint. If you haven't copped her latest release "As I Am," you should definitely spend your hard earned dollars and get it. Seeing the live show just made the album sound that much better. Every song was a beautiful reflection of her artistry, humility and respect to the core of soul music.

Thank you Alicia...

I leave you with a current single out now entitled "Like You'll Never See Me Again." She almost moved me to tears when I heard this live...Enjoy!

Hello Marissa,

I love Alicia Keys' latest CD. I think you downloaded it for me on my IPOD. She is a spiritual and talented young lady. She wants her music to be a voice to all people of all walks of life. Her lyrics have a meaning that captures the young and older people's hearts. She's young, so I know the SISTA has more in her creative head to BLOW US ALL UP!!!!

I just couldn't afford those $100.00 concert tickets. Everyone is not balling like you Marissa! LOL

Lol...I'm not balling either! I had to siphon gas from people's tank to afford the ticket! :) The show was indeed a treat even if it did set me back a face. It was well worth it. She'll be back on the east coast this summer. It would be worth the price of admission.

Hey Rissa Cat,

I have been running with Licia in my ear since the release of her "As I Am" CD. Let me tell you when the burn starts...after a few miles...Licia pushes me on across the finish line.
