So yesterday was my 30th birthday and let me tell you, It was one hell of a day. In all actuality, Saturday night was the actual tactile celebration. My roomie threw a wonderful themed "White Party" with the mantra attached: "30's the New 20!" I had some of my friends come by to celebrate in their flyest white attire. Drinks were flowing and a good time was had by all. Being there in the moment, celebrating with all my friends put a lot into perspective for me. It made me realize how important relationships were; how people bond and how that bond strengthens with each encounter.
These are the times I'll talk about in old age and the stories I'll swap at my next assignment. 30 is the new 20 but in the sense that if the 20's were meant to be the age of discovery then I look forward to the next ten years and beyond to be a new-age of discovery.
I'm blessed and I'm looking forward to the journey...
Godspeed! = )

Hi Niece, I'm sorry, I missed your birthday party. I knew you would be surrounded with friends who love you dearly. You're a lovable person. I don't know about the "Thirties" being the new "Twenties". I'm not sure, who or where these changes came from with the new age groups. It's a way of not accepting your age and thinking you are younger. So, you are 3 0 and accept it with grace. Like, I have accepted my forties and I feel like I'm in my forties too :)....Well, Happy Birthday!!!
