Congratulations to one of last year's Homegirl's of the Month, Mo'Nique for capturing the little gold man that is Oscar at the 82nd annual Oscar's ceremony. She won for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as the evil Mary Jones in the critically acclaimed and winner of Best Adapted Screenplay, Precious. Mo'Nique is the fifth African-American actress to take home the coveted trophy.

Mo'Nique, Life Inside My Head salutes you!

Yes. Good post. Monique, for all of her acting roles, hit pay dirt with her portrayal in this film. I am happy for Monique.

Hollywood acknowledged the performance. Good deal.

Hattie McDaniel was the first African American to win an Oscar back in the day when movies were still black and white. I think she won for best supporting actress also.

Congrats to Monique,

Unfortunately, I did not get to the movie during its release; however, purchased it on DVD...and finally watched it last weekend. Monique was extraordinary in this movie. Yvette does not like her talk show, probably because they are two peas from the same pod, but I enjoy her show. She is real...nothing fake about her but those wigs she wear.

She was excellent in this role!!!

When she got her award I certainly hope that she shaved her legs for the occasion. The last time I saw a picture of her she didn't shave her legs and they looked like spider's legs.
