An Artist You Should Get To Know - Debi Nova
What if Shakira and Nikka Costa had a baby? Well that baby might resemble one of my new favorite artists, Debi Nova. If you've purchased a Ricky Martin, Boney James, Black Eyed Peas, Ricky Martin, Illa J, Sean Paul, Sergio Mendes or Vikter Duplaix album in the past few years then you have heard the latin soul stirrings of the Costa Rican songbird.
Debi has been making music since she was 4 years old taking up the study of classical music for ten years. She is originally from Costa Rica but moved to Los Angeles with her family at the age of 11. The immersion in both cultures helped Debi develop her affectionately coined "Spanglish" brand of music which is a mix of Spanish and English stylings and lyrics.
Debi has a new album out entitled Luna Nueva and it will spin quite nicely in your CD player or iPod for the hot summer months. The lead single Drummer Boy which is featured up top for your viewing and listening pleasure is steadily climbing it's way to the top of the Latin, Pop and World music charts. Debi is a singer, songwriter, dancer and performer that is sure to continue a strong career in the industry. Six Grammy nominated efforts can't hurt her journey!

The music isn't bad, she's gorgeous!!!
What impressed me with Debi Nova is that she's been involved in so many musical projects from artists of many genre's. She's an accomplished writer and composer. I love singer songwriters and this is right in my wheelhouse.
Her other stuff is more impressive than this single. The disc she has out now is in English and Spanish. Check out her song with rapper Illa J called Sounds Like Love...CLASSIC!
