For Rainy Days Like This...

Here's a sexy scene from one of my favorite movies of all time...Love Jones. It's a shame they don't make films like this anymore. No disrespect to Tyler Perry but this is a side of black folks that we should see more of.

Cuddle up with your boo and enjoy!

Yessir!

I love the innocence shown during this scene. The chemistry between Nia Long and her friend was classic. Everything from the script to the facial expressions. One of my favorites movies. Agreed, Hollywood is void of these heartwarming and romantic stories.

Why?

Don,

I wish I could tell you why Hollywood is so void of these films. My humble opinion is that they don't respect the black dollar enough to make movies where we are featured in OTG (other than ghetto) roles. This movie was crazy fantastic and brings back alot of memories of Sumthin' Sumthin' I was going through in my early 20's. : )

This is by far hands down, Nia Long and Larenz Tate's best movie for me. Their chemistry was flawless.

Riss... Hollywood makes movies for white people. If they can appeal to Black audiences as well, but by and large they really do not care. If a movie does not have Black people shooting each other, singing/dancing, or getting high, white people do not want to be bothered.
You know how many people looked at "Precious" as a glimpse into the every day life of the average Black family in America??? White people do not want to watch movies that challenge their notion that Black people are all thugs, hoochies, or rappers/athletes.

Joanna,

I'm with you on all points. It's a shame because we've got stories to tell. Folks like Tyler Perry, Bill Duke, Will Smith and the lot are putting us on but we need that Steven Spielberg type budget.

I would love to see more Love Jones type movies : (
